Out and about and fancy a freebie? Who doesn’t. London is awash with pop-ups from beauty, food and lifestyle brands, but free doesn’t automatically mean worth the detour. Nobody needs another branded tote gathering dust or a sample they’ll never use. The trick is knowing which launches offer something truly worth showing up for, whether that’s skincare treats or a coffee crawl with a difference.
We’ve rounded up seven London pop-ups worth adding to your diary this October, with everything from thousands of free pasta samples on the South Bank to a sweet-shop-inspired skincare takeover. Some come with limited-edition menus or products to try; others have prizes, workshops and complimentary drinks thrown in. All are free to visit, so you can save your money for the things you actually want.
Urban Greens opens on Tottenham Court Road

Salad for lunch, Italian-Japanese fusion on the side: Urban Greens is opening its seventh London site at 100 Tottenham Court Road on 21 October, with a launch offer that makes a detour for lunch especially tempting. The chef-led chain is marking the opening with 50% off between noon and 3pm until 28 October, plus a free chocolate mousse for the first 50 customers on opening day who buy a salad or hot-protein tray. The menu spans signature bowls such as Thai Crunch and Beef Saigon, hearty hot trays and a build-your-own breakfast bar launching shortly after opening.
The most interesting addition is the limited-edition Angelina Salad, created with Shoreditch restaurant Osteria Angelina and available until 6 November. Inspired by Itameshi – the meeting of Italian and Japanese cooking – it combines Wafu chicken, sesame glass noodles, pickled daikon and red cabbage, topped with furikake hazelnuts and yuzu kosho dressing.
- When: Opens Wednesday 21 October 2026; 50% off, 12pm–3pm, until 28 October
- Opening-day extra: Free chocolate mousse for the first 50 customers from 11am with a salad or tray purchase

Free pasta with Emma Petersen on the South Bank

World Pasta Day falls on 25 October, but there’s no need to wait until the weekend to get your fix. On Thursday, Mutti and Coco di Mama are bringing a mobile pasta kitchen to the South Bank, giving away thousands of free samples of a new Creamy Chicken, Thyme & Tomato Ragu created by Sunday Times bestselling cookbook author Emma Petersen.
Made with Mutti’s Polpa tomatoes, the dish will also be available at all 13 Coco di Mama London stores until 4 January, so one free taste could turn into a longer-term lunch habit. There’s a separate vegan option, too, plus a spin-the-wheel game with prizes including tomato products, merchandise and Coco di Mama vouchers. Emma will be there from 11am to 4pm if you’d like to meet the woman behind the recipe.
- When: Thursday 22 October 2026, 11am–7pm
- Where: Observation Point, South Bank, London
- Entry: Free, while samples last

Max Factor Lasting Blur Foundation pop-up

Foundation is one of those purchases where a promising online “swatch” can quickly turn into an expensive mismatch. Max Factor is giving its new Lasting Blur Foundation an IRL debut in Covent Garden, with a three-day pop-up dedicated to trying the formula before you buy. Visitors can get free shade matching, test the foundation and take home a sample, plus enjoy complimentary drinks while they’re there.
Max Factor’s Facefinity Lasting Blur promises a soft-focus finish, with a lightweight formula designed to even out the complexion. The pop-up is a chance to see how it looks on your own skin, find a shade that works and give the sample a proper wear test before deciding whether it’s earned a place in your make-up bag.
- When: 23–25 October 2026; Friday and Saturday, 10am–6pm, Sunday, 12pm–6pm
- Where: 28 Henrietta Street, Covent Garden, London WC2E 8NA
- Entry: Free, walk-ins welcome
Oatly Embassy

Diplomatic immunity for your coffee order? Oatly is opening the doors to its own embassy in South Kensington, where the business of the day is drinks, not diplomacy. The two-day pop-up celebrates its new Future of Taste Report, with free signature serves and workshops at The Diplomat’s Café, an art gallery dedicated to oats (yes, really) and an Ambassador’s Lounge hosting chess, knitting with Black Girl Knit Club and community events. The Museum of Modern Oats even features oil paintings of drinks and a papier-mâché dog made from old Oatly Look Books.
The real passport to the good stuff, though, is reserved for the first 100 visitors each day: an Oatly Embassy Passport unlocking free oat-based drinks at 21 partner cafés across London. Now that’s a foreign policy we can get behind.
- When: 23–24 October 2026, 10am–5pm
- Where: The Lavery, 4–5 Cromwell Place, South Kensington, SW7 2JE
- Entry: Free; workshop spaces are limited
